Foreman began the Jornada dedicated to Cuban culture this October 10 in commemoration of the outbreak of the first war for the independence of Cuba, by Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, a Cuban man who gave the freedom to his slaves, at the same time he called them to fight against Spanish colonialism.
The ceremony also served to inaugurate the day, it was also an opportunity to recognize the meritorious work done by two artists of Radio Grito de Baire, local station, to whom this day of Cuban culture is dedicated. They are the announcer, director of radio programs, and scriptwriter, Adelys del Toro Corrales, and the actor and writer Carlos Miguel Pérez.
The ceremony was attended by Manuel Rodríguez Alfaro, president of the People’s Power Municipal Assembly and other leaders of the Cuban Communist Party government.
