Contramaestre says goodbye to 2024. A year of great challenges due to various situations that had a negative impact on the necessary speed demanded by the fulfillment of the government’s projections to correct distortions and boost the economy.
Even so, the arduous battle of the inhabitants of this eastern Cuban territory has been enhanced by the strength of unity, without relenting in any way in the defense and principles of the Revolution.
On a daily basis, the people have had to defy the impact of the genocidal blockade of the U.S. government against the island, the complex electric power situation and the effects of natural events, just to mention some of the events that have left their mark on the Contramaestrian family.
Journalist: In the midst of this scenario, what does 2024 reveal in Contramaestre?
Manuel Rodríguez Alfaro, M.R.A president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power: “We are not satisfied with the results. In spite of the economic and social situation we have, we have made progress in some economic indicators, we are fulfilling the income and the mercantile circulation, at the same time we have consolidated the productive poles of Laguna Blanca and Baire”.
Q: In the presence of financial limitations, fuel, supplies and other indispensable resources for agricultural development, the fundamental economic base of this territory, it has a high responsibility with the supply of agricultural products to the Santiago area and the municipality itself. What does the president of the government of Contramaestre add in this respect?
M.R.A: “We have several areas of development to respond to the per capita deliveries of food for the population, especially since we have to face serious delays in the supply of products of the standard family basket. We are fulfilling the sowing of the spring campaign and the planting for the cold season is going well, as well as the realization of the agricultural fairs, with presence also in the markets of the city of Santiago de Cuba and in this own locality on Saturdays.
