La Esperanza hill immortalizes the memory of its unforgettable guerrilla, together with other combatants who founded that insurrectional enclave. “Nobody surrenders here”, is the phrase that fills the eyes of the Tercer Frente Oriental (Third Eastern Front). The people there keep alive the legacy of their heroes.
Tribute is once again paid in a municipality that is the result of the Cuban Revolution. Common people dust off the footprint of their history, of their victorious combats on the road to Operación Santiago.
At the very top of La Esperanza in the Tercer Frente, the symbolism of rebellion and courage of those who raised the 26th of July Flag on a Guásima pole for the first time remains intact. An infinite flame prolongs the light of those who, together with their Commander Juan Almeida Bosque, decided to change the forced silence of misery for the noise of arms towards emancipation.
Fifty-five bearded men and two women, witnesses of a guerrilla column, will receive this March 6 the respect and admiration of their people, the collective gratitude of a land that looks with pride at the social transformations between majestic mountain ranges to see the shining of a Turquino Plan.
Tercer Frente and its rebelliousness
March returns to honor the rebelliousness of the Tercer Frente Oriental and progress, to see white coats scattered in the hills saving lives, to see children with backpacks full of dreams on their way to school, to see peasants with skin tanned by the sun in search of food sovereignty.
March returns and the voice of the people in the mountains transcends the ether with a renewed image, with a different face that embraces the protagonism of its people, the daily life and its challenges.
“Triple M Oriental” is the radio station that wears its best clothes to give voices, information, music and instruction, it is the house that spreads its radio product to achieve new goals in defense of the Revolution.
March has arrived and the palm trees of La Esperanza hill raise their plumes to glorify the eternal guerrilla, the man who distributed freedom, smiles and new dawns under Fidel’s orders.
