Dublin, Oct 2 (Prensa Latina) Members of the Group of Solidarity with Cuba climbed the Carrantuohill mountain, the highest in Ireland, as part of an initiative to denounce the US blockade of the Caribbean nation, diplomatic sources informed today.
Located in County Kerry (Southwest), Carrantuohill is 1,039 meters high and is part of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountain range.
The visit to that place is part of the Walks for Cuba and against the Blockade program, which will include a march to downtown Dublin for a distance of 60 kilometers, representing the almost six decades of U.S. aggression against the Greatest of the Antilles.
Cubans living in Ireland and citizens of several regions of this country, including the renowned painter Dietrich Blodau, will participate in this project.
The Cuban embassy here thanked the Irish for their gesture and solidarity with the people of that nation.
