The president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello, today called on the Venezuelan people to concentrate in Miraflores Palace (seat of the Executive) to repudiate the attempted coup d’état under development.

Through a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, the maximum representative of the plenipotentiary entity, explained to the population that the small group of military troops that barricaded themselves in the Altamira Distributor, to the east of the capital, are already being controlled.

They have deceived a group of soldiers and officials who have already withdrawn from the Altamira Distributor. Everyone who assumes responsibility,’ said Cabello in reference to the opposition’s attempt to generate a coup attack.

He also assured that in spite of the repeated calls for the destabilization of the South American country’s institutions, the revolutionary force will continue defending the Constitution and the Bolivarian Revolution.

There is no record of demonstrations in any military establishment in the country. A tiny group of the Bolivarian National Guard and the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service participated in the attempted coup,’ said the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.

He stressed that the situation in the entire national territory is absolutely calm, even in Caracas. They are in the street of the Distributor Altamira showing sorrow and pity’, stressed Cabello.

The military attack is headed by the self-proclaimed ‘president in charge’ of Venezuela Juan Guiadó who, from the social network Twitter, exhorted the citizens to take the main military units of the country, among them the Carlota air base.

“People of Venezuela, it is necessary that we go out together to the street, to support the democratic forces and to recover our freedom. Organized and together mobilize the main military units. People of Caracas, all to the Charlotte”, wrote the opposition leader.
