Several assistance programs in areas, such as health and nutrition, developed in Venezuela by the United Nations (UN) are being affected by the sanctions imposed by the United States.

According to Samuel Moncada, Venezuela’s permanent representative in New York, these projects have not been able to escape Washington’s unilateral and coercive measures.

On many occasions, the organizing agencies ask us to look for a bank with which they can work, and once we find it that entity then explains to us that it cannot work with Venezuelan money, even through the United Nations, explained the diplomat.

At a meeting of the Security Council on the situation in Venezuela, the Russian ambassador to the UN denounced the interference of the United States and its hostile actions that seek a change of government in that South American nation.
