Cuba is a peaceful nation that has been a victim of US terrorism

“Cuba opposes terrorism: it has been a victim and never a sponsor of this scourge. The discredited Trump administration is doing everything it can to hinder and prevent an improvement in relations during Biden’s presidency,” President Miguel Díaz-Canel said on his Twitter account, commenting on the fraudulent and arbitrary inclusion of the Greatest of the Antilles as a nation that favors such a denigrating practice.

The Cuban Parliament also rejected the country’s presence on the spurious list, through a statement by its International Relations Committee, in which it denounced that “the United States has neither the authority nor the mandate, much less the morality to do so, when in fact they are the ones who promote, sponsor and finance terrorism, while protecting their agents and real murderers who, after their murders, walk freely through US territory. We denounce this new aggression to the world’s legislators.

In this regard, Carlos Fernandez de Cossío, director general for the United States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated, before the press, that “the Secretary of State. Michael Pompeo, is deliberately lying”.

Cuba, victim of state terrorism

Our country does not recognize authority to that list because it was conceived by them, said the diplomat. “Its only purpose is to slander countries with which the United States has disagreements or discord. He added that Cuba has been a victim of terrorism organized, financed and perpetrated by the White House, or by individuals and organizations that reside or operate in the territory of that nation, under the tolerance of those same authorities.

He alleged that the new aggression responds to a political opportunism of those officials who feel indebted, derived from recent electoral promises. It is also due to those who advance favors, in view of the year 2024, to minority groups of people.

“There is an additional reason, this measure is taken by an outgoing government with the apparent aim of trying to impose obstacles to any future rebuilding of relations between Cuba and the United States,” he said, adding that another of its objectives is to affect trade, finance and general transactions with our country.
