Cuba rebuffs defamation campaign against Culture Minister
Speaking to national television, Alexis Triana, director of the Center for Cultural Development and Communication (CREART) at MINCULT, explained that after several unsuccessful attempts to talk to them, their obvious purpose was revealed, to provoke a media show. Alonso reacted to the aggression by one of them who pushed his mobile phone to the Minister’s face, by simply pushing the phone away from his face.
Triana showed on TV images of the moment to illustrate his description of the facts. He further said most in the group are paid by US Government’s agencies.
Violence against the Ministry of Culture
The real violence is to besiege a state institution and their top officials to provoke a situation they can use to attack the Revolution, the CREART director said.
MINCULT repudiated the incident on Wednesday morning, while the institution reiterated the will to talk with honest creators, as well as refused to accept provocations or to talk with mercenaries.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel also denounced those actions promoted against the State entities, in an action that points to provocations at times when the country is currently facing the hostile US blockade.
