Caracas, Sep 4 (RHC) The Foreign Ministers of China, Wang Yi, and Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, held this Friday a videoconference in which they addressed the joint work to control the coronavirus pandemic and reinforced the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Alliance.
In a message posted on his Twitter account, the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that in the “extraordinary” telematic meeting with Foreign Minister Wang “we agreed to continue working together in the fight against #Covid19.
“We reinforce our Integral Strategic Alliance, we reject hegemonic aggression and we reiterate our confidence in multilateralism,” said Arreaza in his tweet.
The Chinese Foreign Minister said that his country “is resolutely on the side of the Venezuelan people and on the side of international justice”, according to a dispatch from Radio China International about the videoconference held by both Foreign Ministers.
Wang highlighted that Venezuela faces, on the one hand, the challenge of preventing and controlling the Covid-19 at a national level and, on the other hand, fights against US interference.
He stressed that China is in favor of the struggle of the Venezuelan people against the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and the right of the Venezuelan government to preserve State sovereignty, national dignity and development.
Arreaza said that Venezuela thanks China for its support in the international scenario and affirmed that the attempt of the United States to reintroduce the ideas of the Monroe Doctrine in Latin America will not be successful.
