During the last day, there were no deaths due to the disease, that is why the number of deaths remains at 108, detailed Doctor Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology, in a press conference to update these data.
The specialist of the Ministry of Public Health informed that 77 new patients were diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19, in the last 24 hours, which raises to four thousand 803 the total number of sick people in the biggest of the Antilles since March 11th.
He detailed that of the new diagnosed patients, 33 are women and 44 men, all Cuban, native cases.
Of these, 66 are contacts from a previously diagnosed case and in 11 the source of infection is being investigated, he added.
The expert added that 57 were asymptomatic at the moment of diagnosis, which shows the complexity of the disease and its control, he pointed out.
In the last 24 hours, 79 patients were discharged from the hospital, so there are now a total of 4,119 people who have recovered from the disease in this Caribbean nation.
The day before, seven thousand 758 diagnostic tests were studied in all the national territory to detect the presence of the virus, which raises to 500 thousand 285 the total of samples taken since the first cases were known in this country.
