Cuba reports 59 new cases of Covid-19
At yesterday’s close, August 7, 773 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 11,220 people are being monitored in their homes by Primary Health Care.
For COVID-19, 3,657 samples were studied, resulting in 59 positive samples. The country accumulated 293,069 samples and 2,888 positive samples (0.99%). Therefore, at yesterday’s close, 59 new cases were confirmed, with an accumulated total of 2,888 in the country.
The 59 confirmed cases were Cuban. Of the diagnosed cases, 16 (27.1%) were contact with confirmed cases, 41 (69.4%) with a source of infection abroad and 2 (3.3%) with an unspecified source of infection. By age group: 20 to 40 years 27 (45.7%), 41 to 60 years 32 (54.2%). 84.7% (50) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
Of the 2,888 patients diagnosed with the disease, 356 (12.3%) remained confirmed, of whom 349, 98.0%, had stable clinical evolution. There were 88 deaths (none during the day), two evacuated and 2,442 recovered patients (85%) (13 discharged yesterday). Seven patients were reported to be in serious condition and none in critical condition.
