Authorities of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reports 547 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, after 14,550 samples were studied, totaling 17 096 since March 11. The situation leads to tighten the control and demand of the fulfillment of the measures oriented by national epidemiological specialists.
In a televised press conference, the National Director of Epidemiology, Francisco Durán, explained that in the 18 laboratories of Molecular Biology of the country, 14 thousand 550 tests were processed in the last day.
As of yesterday’s closing, January 14, 7,674 patients were admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 2,776 suspected, 938 under surveillance and 3,960 confirmed.
From the total number of cases (547): 469 were contacts of confirmed cases; 32 with source of infection abroad; on day 46 with no precise source of infection. Of the 547 diagnosed cases, 296 were female and 251 were male.
Of the 547 positive cases, 54.1% (296) were asymptomatic, making a total of 10,787, representing 63% of the cases confirmed to date.
Of the total number of cases to date, 91 (16.6%) are linked to international travelers, accumulating 6,263 which represents 69% of the total number of cases since November 15.
The 547 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years old 73, 20-39 years old 196, 40-59 years old 193, 60 and over 85.
