Cuba reports 48 new Covid-19 cases

The National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Tuesday 48 positive samples to Covid19 during the last 24 hours for a total of 5 thousand 536 since the beginning of the disease.

During the usual press conference, the specialist stated that by yesterday’s closing, 7,298 patients had been admitted, of which 1,221 were suspected, 541 confirmed and 5,536 in epidemiological surveillance.

Durán explained that the day before, the country made 7 thousand 424 samples for an accumulated of 606 thousand 444 analyzed samples.

He announced that all the diagnosed patients are Cuban and 43 of them have a source of infection in patients already confirmed and in 5 of them the source of infection is unknown.

Of the 48 confirmed, 22 are male and 26 are female. As for the age groups, under 19 years old 9 were diagnosed and in pediatric ages 8 for a cumulative of 609 sick children to date and of which 518 are already discharged. Between the ages of 19 and 39 years, 15 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 15 cases and nine people over 60 years.

He specified that, of the 5 thousand 536 patients diagnosed with the disease since its beginning, 541 remain confirmed in the hospital, 567 of them with stable clinical evolution. It is reported 122 deaths, for a lethality of 2.22%. The two evacuated patients are maintained and 4 thousand 787 patients recovered (36 discharged from hospital). Two patients in critical condition and 3 patients in severe condition are reported.
