As of the close of yesterday, October 5, 4,573 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of which 581 were suspected, 3,512 under surveillance and 480 confirmed.
For COVID-19, 5,770 samples were studied, resulting in 38 positive samples. The country has accumulated 656,805 samples and 5,883 positive ones (0.90%). Therefore, at the end of yesterday, 38 new cases were confirmed, with an accumulated of 5,883 in the country.
The 38 diagnosed cases are Cuban, of which 37 cases (97.4%) were contacts of confirmed cases and one (2.6%) without a precise source of infection.
Of the 38 confirmed cases, 20 (52.6%) were men and 18 (47.3%) were women. 78.9% (30) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
Of the 5,883 patients diagnosed with the disease, 480 (8.1%) remain confirmed, 478 (99.6%) with stable clinical evolution. It is reported 123 deaths (none of them during the day), two evacuated and 5 thousand 278 patients recovered (90%) (46 discharges during the day). One patient in critical condition and one patient in severe condition are reported.
