Cuba reports 36 new Covid-19 cases

As of the close of yesterday, October 4, 4,573 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of which 691 were suspected, 3,394 under surveillance and 488 confirmed.

For COVID-19, 7,334 samples were studied, resulting in 36 positive samples. The country accumulates 651,035 samples made and 5,845 positive ones (0.90%). Therefore, by yesterday’s closing, 36 new cases were confirmed, with an accumulated of 5,845 in the country.

The 36 diagnosed cases are Cuban. Of the total number of cases (36): 34 (94.4%) were contacts of confirmed cases and two (5.6%) without a precise source of infection.

Of the 36 confirmed cases, 19 (52.7%) were men and 17 (47.2%) women. 52.7% (19) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
Of the 5,845 patients diagnosed with the disease, 488 (8.34%) remain confirmed, 487 (99.7%) with stable clinical evolution. It is reported 123 deaths (one of the day), two evacuated and 5 thousand 232 patients recovered (89.5%) (87 discharges of the day). One patient is reported to be in serious condition.
