Cuba reports 22 new cases of Covid-19

Authorities of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported 22 new cases with Covid-19 at the close of this Sunday, for a total of six thousand diagnosed since March, no deaths and 34 new medical discharges.

The Minsap’s web page specified that 3 848 patients are admitted in hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 803 of them are suspects, 2 744 are kept in surveillance and 301 confirmed active.

The day before, 7 903 samples were studied for an accumulated of 699 646 samples made since the beginning of the pandemic in our country.

Of the diagnosed cases, 21 are Cuban and one foreigner. Of these, 20 were contacts of confirmed cases, one without a precise source of infection and one with a source of infection abroad.

As for the sex, nine are women and 13 are men.

59.1% (13) of the positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating 3,660 that represent 61% of the confirmed cases to date.

Of the 6,000 patients diagnosed with the disease, 301 (5.02%) remain confirmed, 297 (98.7%) with stable clinical evolution. It is reported 123 deaths (none of them during the day), two evacuated, 34 discharges during the day for an accumulated of 5 574 recovered patients (93%). One patient is reported to be in critical condition and three in severe condition.
