Cuba reports 8,607 new cases of Covid-19

Cuba reports 8,607 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, July 28, after the study of 53,469 samples, so the country accumulates 6,414,461 samples taken and 366,985 positive, according to Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health.

The specialist informed that 85,289 patients have been admitted, 37,496 are suspected, 3,734 are under surveillance and 44,059 are confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases (8,607): 8,558 were contacts of confirmed cases; 16 with source of infection abroad; 33 with no source of infection specified. Of the 8,607 diagnosed cases, 4,639 were female and 3,968 were male.

Of the 8,607 positive cases, 5.5% (476) were asymptomatic, making a total of 105,276, representing 28.7% of those confirmed to date.

The 8,607 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age: 1,522; 20 to 39 years of age: 2,562; 40 to 59 years of age: 2,952; and over 60: 1,571 cases.

Contramaestre: 57 (contacts of confirmed cases).
Guamá: 53 (confirmed case contacts).
Second Front: 54 (contacts of confirmed cases).
Third Front: 27 (contacts of confirmed cases).
Mella: 53 (confirmed case contacts).
Palma Soriano: 15 (12 contacts of confirmed cases and 3 without source of infection).
San Luis: 37 (confirmed case contacts).
Santiago de Cuba: 365 (350 confirmed case contacts, 3 imported and 12 without source of infection).
Songo La Maya: 44 (confirmed case contacts).

Of the 366,985 patients diagnosed with the disease, 44,059 remain hospitalized, of whom 43,719 have stable clinical evolution. There are 2,628 deaths (68 during the day), a case fatality rate of 0.71% vs. 2.14% in the world and 2.61% in the Americas; two evacuated, 54 returned to their countries, 8,073 discharged during the day, 320,242 patients have recovered (87.3%). A total of 340 confirmed patients are being treated in intensive care, including 143 critical and 197 serious patients.

Hasta el 28 julio se reportan 190 países y 32 territorios con casos de Covid-19, asciende a 196 millones 482 mil 410 los casos confirmados (+ 571 mil 302) con 14 millones 353 mil 620 casos activos y 4 millones 199 mil 564 fallecidos (+ 7 mil 418) para una letalidad de 2,14%(=).

En la región de las Américas se reportan 77 millones 366 mil 101 casos confirmados (+ 110 mil 902), el 39,38% del total de casos reportados en el mundo, con 7 millones 226 mil 598 casos activos y 2 millones 17 mil 633 fallecidos (+ 1 mil 230) para una letalidad de 2,61%(=).
