Cuba reports 8291 new Covid-19 cases

Cuba reports 8291 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, September 16, after the study of 53,918 samples for surveillance during the day, so the country accumulates 8 million 889,419 samples taken and 784,416 positive, informed the Ministry of Public Health.

The report shows that 94,825 patients have been admitted, 52,717 are suspected, 3,033 are under surveillance and 39,075 are confirmed active.

For Covid-19, a total of 53,918 samples were taken for surveillance during the day, resulting in 8,291 positive results. The country accumulates 8 million 889 thousand 419 samples taken and 784 thousand 416 positive.

Of the total number of cases (8291): 8246 were contacts of confirmed cases; 31 with source of infection abroad; 14 with no source of infection specified. Of the 8291 diagnosed cases, 4390 were female and 3901 were male.

Of the 8291 positive cases, 6.5% (538) were asymptomatic, making a total of 123,562 cases, representing 15.8% of those confirmed to date.

The 8291 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (2122); 20 to 39 years of age (1939), 40 to 59 years of age (2495), 60 and over (1735).

III Front: 52 (50 contacts of confirmed cases and 2 without source of infection).
Mella: 30 (contacts of confirmed cases).
Palma Soriano: 28 (24 confirmed case contacts and 4 without source of infection).
San Luis: 42 (confirmed case contacts).
Santiago de Cuba: 117 (confirmed case contacts).
Songo La Maya: 24 (23 confirmed case contacts and 1 without source of infection).

Of the 784,416 patients diagnosed with the disease, 39,075 remain hospitalized, of whom 38,611 are clinically stable. There are 6,676 deaths (75 during the day), a mortality rate of 0.85% vs. 2.06% in the world and 2.47% in the Americas; two evacuated, 55 returned to their countries, 7,935 discharged during the day, 738,608 patients have recovered (94.2%). There are 464 confirmed patients in intensive care, 145 of whom are critical and 319 serious.
