Cuba reports 7516 new Covid-19 cases

Cuba reports 7516 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, September 13, after the study of 49,778 samples, so the country accumulates 8 million 728,301 samples taken and 761,060 positive, according to information from the Ministry of Public Health.

The report states that 97,737 patients have been admitted, 55,050 are suspected, 3,408 are under surveillance and 39,279 are confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases (7516): 7477 were contacts of confirmed cases; 17 with source of infection abroad; 22 with no source of infection specified. Of the 7516 diagnosed cases, 3990 were female and 3526 were male.

Of the 7516 positive cases, 4.1% (306) were asymptomatic, making a total of 122,471 cases, representing 16.1% of those confirmed to date.

The 7516 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years old (1878), 20 to 39 years old (1822), 40 to 59 years old (2164), 60 and over (1652).

Distribution in the province of Santiago de Cuba: 312 Covid-19 cases.


Contramaestre: 23 (contacts of confirmed cases).
Guamá: 3 (2 confirmed case contacts and 1 without source of infection).
II Frente: 95 (94 contacts of confirmed cases and 1 without source of infection).
III Frente: 44 (contacts of confirmed cases).
Julio Antonio Mella: 10 (contacts of confirmed cases).
Palma Soriano: 48 (39 confirmed case contacts and 9 without source of infection).
San Luis: 12 (11 confirmed case contacts and 1 without source of infection).
Santiago de Cuba: 63 (61 confirmed case contacts and 2 with no source of infection identified).
Songo La Maya: 14 (confirmed case contacts).

Of the 761,060 patients diagnosed with the disease, 39,279 remain hospitalized, of whom 38,823 have a stable clinical course. There are 6,449 deaths (76 during the day), a mortality rate of 0.84% vs. 2.06% in the world and 2.48% in the Americas; two evacuated, 55 returned to their countries, 7,771 discharged during the day, 715,275 patients have recovered (94.0%). There are 456 confirmed patients in intensive care, of which 141 are critical and 315 severe.
