Cuba reports 7,437 new Covid-19 cases

Cuba reports 7,437 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, September 14, after the study of 51,130 samples, so the country accumulates 8 million 779,431 samples taken and 768,497 positive, according to information from the Ministry of Public Health.

According to the report, 96,093 patients have been admitted, 53,967 are suspected, 3,290 are under surveillance and 38,836 are confirmed active.

For Covid-19, a total of 51,130 samples were taken for surveillance during the day, resulting in 7,437 positive results. The country accumulates 8 million 779 thousand 431 samples taken and 768 thousand 497 positive.

Of the total number of cases (7437): 7430 were contacts of confirmed cases; 6 with source of infection abroad; 1 with no source of infection specified. Of the 7437 diagnosed cases, 3970 were female and 3467 were male.

Of the 7437 positive cases, 2.6% (195) were asymptomatic, making a total of 122,666 cases, representing 16.0% of those confirmed to date.

The 7437 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (1709); 20 to 39 years of age (1837), 40 to 59 years of age (2333), 60 and over (1558).

Of the 768,497 patients diagnosed with the disease, 38,836 remain hospitalized, of whom 38,374 have a stable clinical course. There were 6,523 deaths (74 during the day), a mortality rate of 0.84% vs. 2.06% in the world and 2.47% in the Americas; two evacuated, 55 returned to their countries, 7,806 patients were discharged during the day, and 723,081 patients recovered (94.1%). There are 462 confirmed patients in intensive care, of which 132 are critical and 330 serious.

As of September 14, 190 countries and 32 territories have reported cases of Covid-19, with 226 million 418,262 confirmed cases (+ 619,693), 18 million 648,176 active cases and 4 million 657,754 deaths (+ 8,576) for a case fatality rate of 2.06% (=).

In the Americas region, 87 million 887 thousand 526 confirmed cases (+ 289 thousand 696) were reported, 38.82% of the total number of cases reported in the world, with 10 million 934 thousand 248 active cases and 2 million 172 thousand 524 deaths (+ 3 thousand 31) for a case fatality rate of 2.47% (-0.01).
