Cuba reports 7,151 new Covid-19 cases

Cuba reports 7 151 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, September 21, after the study of a total of 53,249 samples for surveillance during the day, so the country accumulates 9 million 165,377 samples taken and 825,351 positive, according to information from the Ministry of Public Health.

The report shows that 90,027 patients are admitted, 46,548 are suspected, 3,162 are under surveillance and 40,317 are confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases (7 151): 7 104 were contacts of confirmed cases; 37 with source of infection abroad; 10 with no source of infection specified. Of the 7 151 diagnosed cases, 3 810 were females and 3 341 were males.

Of the 7,151 positive cases, 2.7% (193) were asymptomatic, making a total of 124,842 cases, representing 15.1% of those confirmed to date.

The 7 151 diagnosed cases belonged to the following age groups: under 20 years (1 576), 20 to 39 years (1 738), 40 to 59 years (2 214), 60 and over (1 623).

Palma Soriano: 27 (22 contacts of confirmed cases and 5 without source of infection).
San Luis: 14 (confirmed case contacts).
Santiago de Cuba: 68 (55 confirmed case contacts and 13 imported cases).
Songo La Maya: 3 (confirmed case contacts).

Of the 825,351 patients diagnosed with the disease, 40,317 remain hospitalized, of whom 39,866 are clinically stable. There are 6,978 deaths (59 during the day), a case fatality rate of 0.84% vs. 2.05% in the world and 2.46% in the Americas; two evacuated, 55 returned to their countries, 7,759 discharged during the day, and 777,999 patients recovered (94.3%). There are 451 confirmed patients in intensive care, 145 of whom are critical and 306 serious.
