Cuba reports 37 new Covid-19 cases

Authorities of the Ministry of Public Health reported 37 new Covid-19 cases in Cuba, from the study of 7 thousand 985 samples. Now the total is 993,686 samples tested and 7,704 positive for 0.78%.

As of yesterday’s closing, November 17, 2,512 patients were admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 531 suspected, 1,582 under surveillance and 399 confirmed.

Of the total number of cases (37): 19 were contacts of confirmed cases, 18 with a source of infection abroad. Of the 37 cases, 30 are Cuban and 7 are foreign.

The 37 diagnosed cases included 19 females and 18 males. The 72.9% (27) of the 37 positive cases were asymptomatic.

Of the 7,704 patients diagnosed with the disease, 399 (5.1%) remain confirmed, all (100%) with stable clinical evolution. A total of 131 deaths were reported (none during the day), two evacuated, 59 discharged during the day, and 7 thousand 172 patients recovered (93.1%). No serious or critical patients were informed.

Up to November 17, there were 186 countries with reported cases of COVID-19, 55 million 154 thousand 679 confirmed cases (+ 578 thousand 202) and 1 million 328 thousand 537 deaths (+ 8 thousand 745) for a lethality of 2.40 (-0.01).
