The National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Friday 344 new Covid-19 cases during the last day for an accumulated of 13 thousand 823 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease last March.
The specialist informed that by the end of yesterday, 4 thousand 281 patients had been admitted, of which 1 thousand 337 were suspected, 2 thousand 118 confirmed and 826 in epidemiological surveillance.
He explained that the day before, the country made 12 thousand 092 samples for an accumulated of 1 million 565 thousand 666 analyzed samples.
The epidemiologist announced that of the 344 patients diagnosed, 334 are Cuban and 10 are foreign. Of them, 238 with source of infection in cases already confirmed, 69 with source abroad and in 37 persons the source of infection is unknown.
Of the total number of confirmed cases, 164 are male and 180 are female. In terms of age groups, 46 patients were diagnosed under 19 years of age. In pediatric ages, there is a total of 1,434 sick children to date and 113 are currently hospitalized. In the age group from 19 to 39 years old, 115 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years old about 125 cases and 58 people over 60 years old.
He specified that, from the 13 thousand 823 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of the same one, 2 thousand 118 are kept confirmed in hospital, from them 1 thousand 102 with stable clinical evolution. It is reported 148 deaths for a lethality of 1.07%. There are two evacuated, 24 returned and 11 thousand 531 patients recovered (141 discharged from hospital). There are reported 4 patients in critical state and 12 patients in severe state.
