Cuba reports 2,364 new Covid-19 cases

Cuba reports 2,364 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, October 13, after the study of a total of 29,775 samples for surveillance during the day, thus accumulating 10,078,932 samples taken and 928,684 positive, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

According to the report, 31,319 patients are admitted, 17,169 are suspected, 2,559 are under surveillance and 11,591 are confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases (2,364): 2,359 were contacts of confirmed cases; 4 with source of infection abroad; 1 with no source of infection specified. Of the 2,364 diagnosed cases, 1,262 were female and 1,102 were male.

Of the 2364 positive cases, 5.5% (129) were asymptomatic, making a total of 128,905 cases, representing 13.9% of those confirmed to date.

The 2 364 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (516), 20 to 39 years of age (524), 40 to 59 years of age (735) and over 60 (589).

Of the 928,684 patients diagnosed with the disease, 11,591 remain hospitalized, 11,299 of them with stable clinical evolution. There were 7,994 deaths (38 during the day), a case fatality rate of 0.86% vs. 2.04% in the world and 2.45% in the Americas; two evacuated, 55 returned to their countries, 4,246 discharged during the day, and 909,042 patients recovered (97.8%). There are 292 confirmed patients in intensive care, 89 of whom are critical and 203 severe.
