Cuba reports 234 new Covid-19 cases

Cuba reports 234 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, November 22, after the study of a total of 14,134 samples for surveillance during the day, so the country accumulates 10 million 961,558 samples taken and 961,276 positive, according to information from the Ministry of Public Health.

The report shows that 4,386 patients have been admitted, 2,960 are suspected, 175 are under surveillance and 1,251 are confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases (234): 228 were contacts of confirmed cases; 2 with source of infection abroad; 4 with no source of infection specified. Of the 234 diagnosed cases, 119 were female and 115 were male.

Of the 234 positive cases, 13.7% (32) were asymptomatic, making a total of 132,373 cases, representing 13.8% of those confirmed to date.

Of the 234 diagnosed cases, they belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (34), 20 to 39 years of age (54), 40 to 59 years of age (84) and over 60 (62).

Of the 961,276 patients diagnosed with the disease, 1,251 remain hospitalized, of whom 1,215 are clinically stable. There are 8,298 deaths (3 on the day), a case fatality rate of 0.87% vs. 2.0% in the world and 2.43% in the Americas; 2 evacuated, 55 returned to their countries, 346 discharged on the day, and 951,670 patients have recovered (99.0%). Thirty-six confirmed patients are being treated in intensive care, including 11 critical and 25 seriously ill.
