Cuba reports 1393 new Covid-19 cases

Cuba reports 1393 new cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, October 22, after the study of a total of 28,519 samples for surveillance during the day, so the country accumulates 10 million 332,305 samples taken and 944,431 positive, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

The report shows that 18,411 patients have been admitted, 10,646 are suspected, 1,919 are under surveillance and 5,846 are confirmed active.

For COVID-19, a total of 28,519 samples were taken for surveillance during the day, with 1,393 positive results. The country accumulates 10 million 332 thousand 305 samples taken and 944 thousand 431 positive.

Of the total number of cases (1,393): 1,375 were contacts of confirmed cases; 12 with source of infection abroad; 6 with no source of infection specified. Of the 1,393 diagnosed cases, 759 were female and 634 were male.

Of the 1,393 positive cases, 8.5% (118) were asymptomatic, making a total of 130,179 cases, representing 13.8% of those confirmed to date.

The 1,393 diagnosed cases belonged to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (296), 20 to 39 years of age (309), 40 to 59 years of age (430) and over 60 years of age (358).

Santiago de Cuba: 9 (confirmed case contacts).
Songo La Maya: 2 (confirmed case contacts).

Of the 944,431 patients diagnosed with Covid-19, 5,846 remain hospitalized, 5,681 of them with stable clinical evolution. There are 8,167 deaths (14 during the day), a case fatality rate of 0.86% vs. 2.03% in the world and 2.45% in the Americas; two evacuated, 55 returned to their countries, 1,571 discharged during the day, and 930,361 patients have recovered (98.5%). There are 165 confirmed patients in intensive care, out of 60 critical and 105 severe patients.
