Cuba reports 1,288 cases of Covid-19

Cuba reports 1,288 cases of Covid-19 at the end of yesterday, June 10, after the study of 22,690 samples, so the country accumulates a total of 4,575,595 samples taken and 154,866 positive, according to Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health.

The specialist explained that 27,385 patients have been admitted, 4,834 are suspected, 16,359 are under surveillance and 6,192 are confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases (1288): 1172 were contacts of confirmed cases; 68 with source of infection abroad; 48 with no source of infection specified. Of the 1,288 diagnosed cases, 669 were female and 619 were male.

Of the 1,288 positive cases, 50.6% (652) were asymptomatic, making a total of 75,241, representing 48.6% of those confirmed to date.

The 1,288 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (225), 20 to 39 years of age (391), 40 to 59 years of age (437) and over 60 years of age (235).

Distribution in the province of Santiago de Cuba: 145 Covid-19 cases

Contramaestre: 4 (2 contacts of confirmed cases and 2 imported cases).
Guamá: 3 (confirmed case contacts).
II Frente: 1 (confirmed case contact).
Mella: 9 (confirmed case contacts).
Palma Soriano: 16 (12 confirmed case contacts and 4 without source of infection).
Santiago de Cuba: 110 (104 confirmed case contacts, 5 imported and 1 without source of infection).
Songo La Maya: 2 (1 confirmed case contact and 1 with no source of infection identified).

Of the 154,866 patients diagnosed with the disease, 6,192 remain hospitalized, 6,050 of them with stable clinical evolution. There were 1,065 deaths (8 during the day), 2 evacuated, 54 returned to their countries, 1,135 discharged during the day, and 147,553 patients recovered (95.2%). There are 142 confirmed patients in intensive care, of which 52 are critical and 90 severe.

As of June 10, 190 countries and 30 territories have reported cases of COVID-19, with 175 million 393,798 confirmed cases (+ 427,451), 12 million 372,670 active cases and 3 million 783,75 deaths (+ 11,465) for a case fatality rate of 2.16 (=).

In the Americas region, 70 million 106,347 confirmed cases (+ 201,288) were reported, 39.97% of the total number of cases reported in the world, with 7 million 830,720 active cases and 1 million 833,754 deaths (+ 5,299) for a case fatality rate of 2.62 (=).
