The specialist reported this Tuesday on Cuban TV four deaths and 836 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated 46,197 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation.
Dr. Durán reported that at the end of yesterday, 18,966 patients had been admitted, of which 2,924 were suspected, 11,184 were under epidemiological surveillance and 4,858 were confirmed.
Durán explained that the country had taken 18,718 samples the day before for a total of 2,300,430 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 836 patients, 433 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 797 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 12 have a source of infection abroad (2 foreigners) and the source of infection is unknown in 27 persons. There were 824 autochthonous patients.
Of the total number of confirmed cases, 434 were male and 402 female. In terms of age groups, 124 patients were diagnosed under 19 years of age and 753 pediatric patients were hospitalized. Between 19 and 39 years of age, 254 cases were confirmed, 315 cases between 40 and 59 years of age and 143 people over 60 years of age.
Of the 46,197 patients diagnosed with the disease since its onset, 4,858 have been confirmed as hospitalized, 4,792 of them with stable clinical evolution. There are 300 deaths reported (4 on the last day) for a case fatality rate of 0.66. The two evacuees, 54 returnees and 40,979 patients recovered (942 discharged on the day). Thirty-four patients are reported in critical condition and 32 patients in serious condition.
