Nicaragua’s support for the nomination of the Nobel Peace Prize for the International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics “Henry Reeve” is made clear in pronouncements by the highest authorities of that Central American country, Cubaminrex points out today, ACN published today.
Also joining the support of the Cuban medical contingent is the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, outstanding intellectuals, parliamentarians, religious, graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine and Cubans living in that nation, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes on its official website.
It adds the information that the vice-president of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, greeted the 15th anniversary of the creation of this health and altruistic force for the benefit of humanity.
According to the text, Murillo declared the support of the homeland of Augusto César Sandino to the campaign that has been raised internationally by the social movements to recognize with the Nobel Peace Prize 2021 the Cuban volunteer doctors that in times of pandemic save lives in several continents.
Equally prestigious intellectuals such as the poet Humberto Avilés Bermúdez, various groups that make up the Solidarity Movement with the largest of the Antilles, the Association of Cubans Residing in Nicaragua and specialists graduated on the island have raised their voices to join this world-wide clamor.
CubaMinrex points out that at the proposal of the Nicaraguan party, in the person of the pastor and deputy Daniel Ortega Reyes, the Central American Parliament approved a resolution supporting the nomination of the Cuban medical brigades for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021.
The organization, which has the support of Unesco and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture, is signed by Spanish politician Federico Mayor Zaragoza, Argentinean sociologist Atilio Borón, Mexican professor Mario Alberto Nájera Espinoza, French professor Paul Estrade, Argentinean Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Brazilian theologian Frei Betto, and international journalist and analyst Ignacio Ramonet, among others.
