Fulfilling the due protection and physical distance, the school year 2020-2021 started in Contramaestre. A brief ceremony was held at Orlando Pantoja Tamayo semi-boarding school attended by a small group of students, community leaders, and parents from the school board.
At the opening, the director of the institution, Elizabeth Pérez Vega, offered details about the culmination of the previous school year and the challenges for the current one. The work of the teachers with the best results was also recognized, as well as the students who won national competitions.
“We are starting the 2020-2021 school year in extraordinary conditions because of the date and the health measures we must follow to take care of everyone’s health, especially the children’s.It is obligatory to wash one’s hands when entering the center and to use the mask, to prevent the spread of Covid-19. ”
Pérez Vega assures that the staff she heads is in full condition to achieve good results despite having started the course in November.
