The Vice President of the Republic of Cuba Salvador Valdés Mesa visited the farm of producer Eusebio García of the Credit and Service Cooperative (CCS) Amado Rosales in Laguna Blanca, municipality of Contramaestre.
Accompanied by Lázaro Expósito Canto and Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, first secretary of the party and governor of the province of Santiago de Cuba, respectively, Valdés Mesa visited the La Gladis farm and was interested in the effects of tropical storm ETA on the Contramaestre production center.
There, he exchanged with the young producer Joan Daniel García Naranjo who works with his father in six hectares of corn, yucca, tomato and bean crops with very good results.
The visit of Salvador Valdés Mesa and his work team to Santiago de Cuba was aimed at assessing the damages caused by the tropical storm ETA in this eastern region of the Island.
The Cuban Vice-president, after knowing that the damages to the agricultural area were not so significant and that there are many enlisted lands, exhorted the producers of Contramaestre and all the province of Santiago to continue sowing.
