Moscow, Russia. – President Vladimir Putin valued the prominent role of the Cuba-Russia Friendship Association in fostering and developing fellowship between the two countries on the occasion of the organization’s annual conference.
In the letter sent to the participants, he recalled that at the beginning of that association there were two heroes, the first cosmonaut of the planet, Yuri Gagarin, and the commander Ernesto Guevara.
Russian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Riabkov stressed at the conference held in the Chancellery’s Protocol House, that both governments and peoples maintain at all times the course of defending their national interests.
The Russian vice-minister expressed that Russia ratifies its demand to end the discriminatory, illegal and unilateral blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, which has caused damages of almost one billion dollars in nearly six decades.
