Peruvian minister welcomes Cuban vaccine project

Lima, Aug 21 (Prensa Latina) Peruvian Health Minister, Pilar Mazzetti, considered the Cuban vaccine project Soberana 01 against Covid-19 as good news and said there are no complaints about the work of the island’s doctors working in this South American country.

Regarding the Cuban medical brigade that arrived last June through an intergovernmental agreement in the regions of Arequipa, Ayacucho, Ancash and Moquegua, he stated that ‘we have not received any complaints or anything else against it’ and that he is waiting for a report from the regional governments at the end of the month.

The minister also said that, in the midst of this situation, the strategy against the pandemic focuses on primary care, detection, isolation and care of infected and called on the population to comply with the precautions indicated to avoid infection.

He added that the government, after a study of the requirements, is processing the importation of oxygen plants for hospitals, given the shortage of the product, essential for the very serious cases of Covid-19.
