Havana, Feb 10 (Prensa Latina) My life is literature. The language has always the same subtlety (…) if there is no command of language, there is no identity, Cuban poet Lina de Feria, a 2019 National Literature prizewinner, said.

During the delivery ceremony of the recognition, on the occasion of the 29th Havana International Book Fair, the writer evoked her childhood when she received an award that made her definitely plot her way through letters.

De Feria thanked the jury and colleagues for the recognition, remembered her teachers and all the people who were related to her training and housed on her the passion and love for literature.

Perhaps the strength and intensity of Lina de Feria’s poetry is due to her writing to show a light, writer Francisco Lopez Sacha said referring to her more than 30 published titles.

Lopez Sacha said De Feria is at the fore of a constant search within the poetic trope that has allowed her to fulfill the poet’s supposed mission of discovering, making visible and converting (according to Jose Lezama Lima) that unrealistic world into image and possibility.

Graduated in Philology at the University of Havana, De Feria is currently considered one of the representative lyrical female writers with a notable influence on the new horde of writers.

Poems published in the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Venezuela, France, Austria, Argentina, Chile, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Switzerland and the Caribbean nation reaffirm her merit as an excellent poet for Cuba and the world.
