Santa Clara, 20 Jan. Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A (ETECSA) contributed to the computerization of the society in the province of Villa Clara during 2019 with the installation of some 545 data services in the business sector as part of a project that this company is carrying out at a national level, according to ACN.
Marlén Cortés Pentón, head of the Commercial and Marketing Department of ETECSA’s Territorial Division, explained to ACN that among the sectors with visible advances are the banking system, both the Popular de Ahorro (BPA) and the Crédito y Comercio (BANDEC), both banks show the development of payment gateways such as Transfermóvil and the increase of ATMs; as well as the educational one which has the highest connectivity requests.
Another of the most demanded services are the speed increases, according to Dianitsy Barreto Martinez, communication specialist of the entity in the territory, which amounted to more than 900.
These are located in educational and agricultural facilities of the Ministry of Justice, Economy and Planning, Finance and Prices, National Statistics Office, Institute of Physical Planning, BPA, BANDEC, Youth Club and Cuban Post Office.
One of the novelties of the year that will culminate -specifically in its last quarter- added Barreto Martínez, was the beginning of the commercialization of the business home, consisting of the payment of the service, by means of monthly invoicing to those workers who, due to their functions, require it, with a total of 187 working at the end of December.
As far as prepaid customers are concerned, the specialist concluded that in 2019 alone, 20,500 permanent accounts had been activated in the territory of Villa Clara, measuring the possibilities of access to the Internet for the population, which has different routes: navigation rooms, the nauta hogar itself or areas for wireless or WiFi connection.
