Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez participates with 100 young people in a voluntary work at the UEB Granja Boyeros, belonging to the Empresa Agropecuaria Metropolitana.
In salute to the National Rebellion Day, and also accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández, the president arrived this morning at the Fontanar organoponic farm.
While some are preparing beds with organic fertilizer, others are picking cabbages, beans and garlic.
Cuba faces challenges
Once the volunteer work was over, the president spoke with the young people about the current challenges facing Cuba, as well as the responsibility they have to propose, create and participate in the socioeconomic activities of the country.
He stresses the need to advance in development, defending the Constitution, democracy, our values, with more participation and taking advantage of everyone’s talent.
Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz arrived early at the organoponic UEB Granja Primero de Mayo, in the Cotorro municipality of the capital. Here, volunteer work is being carried out on July 26, a historic day for Cuba.
