Havana, Cuba. – Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced that Washington Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is calling on his Embassy in Havana to intervene in the internal affairs of a sovereign country that will not allow it.
He denounces that the U.S. mission in Cuba, and particularly its chargé d’affaires Mara Tekach, have concentrated in recent months on the failed purpose of recruiting mercenaries and promoting division on the island.
Cuban authorities recently accused Washington of promoting a slander campaign for the arrest of counterrevolutionary José Daniel Ferrer, as part of the growing hostilities against our country.
The head of Foreign Relations described on Twitter the actions of the U.S. diplomatic representation in Cuba, endorsed by Pompeo, as illegal and affirmed that these activities are being carried out against the Cuban constitutional order.
