Thirty three new cases of Covid-19 in Cuba

As of yesterday’s close, July 28th, 326 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 3,339 are being monitored in primary health care.

For COVID-19, 3,235 samples were studied, resulting in 33 positive samples. The country has accumulated 256,996 samples and 2,588 positives (1.01%). Therefore, at yesterday’s close, 33 new cases were confirmed, with a cumulative total of 2,588 in the country.

The 33 diagnosed cases are Cuban. Of these, 24 (72.7%) were contact of confirmed cases, seven (21.3%) with source of infection abroad and in two (6.0) the source of infection is not specified.

Of the 33 confirmed cases, 14 (42.4%) were male and 19 (57.6%) were female. The age groups affected were: 41 to 59 years old with 14 cases (42.4%), under 20 years old with 11 cases (33.3%), followed by the group from 20 to 40 years old with five cases (15.1%) and over 60 years old with three cases (9.1%). 57.6% (19) of confirmed cases were asymptomatic.
