The four thousand 536 real time PCR tests analyzed in the last day detected 27 new cases of Covid-19 in Cuba, for a total of 3 thousand 744 persons, said today the Ministry of Public Health.
The National Director of Epidemiology of this Ministry, Francisco Durán, informed in a press conference that until yesterday the laboratories accumulated a total of 369 thousand 889.
He also informed that no deaths were registered due to SARS-Cov2, so they remain at 91, thanks to the action protocols, the medicines applied and the effort of the professionals in the intensive care units.
Durán detailed that the 27 confirmed cases are 26 Cubans and one foreigner, 12 women and 15 men, from which 11 were asymptomatic at the moment of diagnosis, and 24 contacts of patients previously diagnosed.
For clinical-epidemiological surveillance, 1,138 patients are admitted, 548 appear as suspects and 41 remain in surveillance, while 549 are active patients, from which 532 present a stable clinical evolution, and there are reported three in critical state and 14 serious ones, Durán explained.
Since the first case was reported last March 11, government and health authorities have been working on a plan to stop the spread of this disease, and 3,102 have recovered and been discharged as a result of five months of confrontation with Covid-19.
Durán insisted on the complexity of Covid-19 due to its rapid transmission and high risk for all people, hence the repeated call for responsible behavior in compliance with isolation, protection and epidemiological surveillance measures.
