Cuba reports 13 new positive cases of coronavirus

Yesterday, July 21, 181 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Two hundred and fifty-four other people are being monitored in their homes by Primary Health Care.

For COVID-19, 2,714 samples were studied, with 13 positive ones. The country accumulated 234,817 samples and 2,462 positive cases (1.05%). Therefore, at yesterday’s close, 13 new cases were confirmed, for an accumulated total of 2,462 in the country.

The 13 confirmed cases were Cuban. Of the diagnosed cases, 12 (92.3%) were contacts of confirmed cases and in 1 (7.7%) the source of infection is not specified. Of these, 6 (46.1%) were female and 7 (53.8%) were male. By age group: from 20 to 40 years old with 5 cases (38.5%), followed by those under 20 and the group from 41 to 60 years old, with 4 cases each (30.7%) respectively. 61.5% (8) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
