Cuba reports 88 new cases of Civid-19

The National Director of Minsap Epidemiology, Francisco Duran, regretted this Thursday the death of two people and reported 88 new positive cases to the Covid-19 after the study of 414 418 samples in the molecular biology laboratories in the country.

It is about an 85 year-old man from San Cristóbal’s municipality in Artemisa who had seven days of hospital admission and from the first day he got worse and about a Cuban patient of 87 years old from the capital city’s municipality Cotorro, who was in contact with a confirmed case with associated antecedents and who had a sudden progress of the disease.

The country accumulates 414 418 analyzed samples and 4214 positive ones.

As of the closing of this Wednesday, 1346 patients were admitted to hospitals, 26 were under surveillance and other 682 suspects

Of those diagnosed, 87 are Cuban and one is a foreigner residing in Cuba. Of them 77 were contact of confirmed cases and in 11 the source of infection has not been specified.

As for the sex, 47 are men and 41 women. At the time of diagnosis 63 were asymptomatic.

Taking into account the age groups, 15 are in pediatric ages, from 40 to 60 years old, 31 cases are reported and from more than 60, 14 patients are reported.

According to the distribution by provinces, 69 are from Havana, 14 from Artemisa, and 5 from Ciego de Avila. There are accumulated 100 deceased persons and two evacuated persons.

Until this Wednesday, 617 patients presented a stable evolution, four cases were critical and 17 were serious.

Yesterday, 16 discharges were made for a total of 3474 recovered patients.
