Contramaestre’s youth is united by Cuba today, in tune with the celebration of next May 1st, International Workers’ Day, acting in an exemplary manner in the midst of the difficult conditions that the nation is experiencing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hundreds of young medical students of the Contramaestre are the protagonists of the cleaning tasks, active research in the neighborhoods of the city, attention to the elderly in their residences, cleaning work in the streets and houses, as well as protection and care of the social isolation measures.
Dozens of young students and soldiers from the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) ensure internal order in the city’s commercial arteries and its main distribution areas, while guaranteeing order in the sale of basic necessities.
The fields of Laguna Blanca, the main food production pole in the province of Santiago de Cuba, are currently the most worthy scenario for the performance of Contramaestrian youth, as they are mobilized daily from early hours of every morning, for the planting of short-cycle crops.
United and enthusiastic, the youth of this city will contribute to the realization of a different May Day in Cuba, at home, but with the same enthusiasm as during the 60 years of triumphant Revolution.
