Havana, 22 Feb (ACN) The Music Recording and Publishing Company (EGREM) presented the DVD Ricitos Valdés(“Curly Valdés), Los tres ositos (the Three Little Bears) and Cuban music, as part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the La Colmenita Children’s Theater Company.
Created by music producer José Manuel García, the audiovisual includes 11 live songs, performed by the “colmeneros” children together with renowned musicians such as trumpet player Julito Padrón, flutist Orlando Valle “Maraca”, Eliades Ochoa and David Álvarez among others, as reported in a press conference.
At La Orden Tercera Theater, headquarters of the prestigious children’s group, it was learned that the songs Cemento (“Cement, Brick and Sand”), A la loma de Belén (“To the Hill of Bethlehem”), Perla Marina (“Pearl of the Sea”), Rico Vacilón (“Rico Vacilón”), Esas no son cubanas (“Those Aren’t Cuban”), Bonito y Sabroso (“Pretty and Tasty”), Te espero en la eternidad (“I’m Waiting for You in Eternity”), Baja y tapa la olla (“Come Down and Cover the Pot”), Y tú que has hecho (“And What Have You Done”), Píntate los labios María (“Paint Your Lips”) and María caracoles (“Mary and Mary Snails”), popular songs of the national pentagram.
Carlos Alberto Cremata “Tin”, leader of the company Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), thanked the EGREM for this DVD, which he considered “a very big gift that they have given not only to La Colmenita but to the Cuban family”, and catalogued it as ” Cubanness at heart”.
For her part, musicologist Elsida González, from the creative group of the oldest record label in the country, praised the high musical level that these children possess despite the fact that most of them have no academic training, and stressed that “behind every story that this group presents, there is always an educational teaching, a message for the children and above all for the parents.
He said that for his company it is always a pleasure to be accomplices and sponsors of these beekeepers who every day contribute and bet because good music is heard.
At the event, Cremata also announced that as part of the celebrations for these three decades of existence, they will present a revival of the play Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, at the Karl Marx Theater in the capital city, on February 29th at 5 pm, and on March 1st with a double performance at 11 am and 5 pm.
This theatrical superproduction par excellence of the Company, is an adaptation by Julia González of the original story by the German brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, which includes Cuban children’s songs and an acrobatic number.
Tickets will be on sale from this Tuesday at the Karl Marx box office.
Likewise, the DVD Curly Valdés, the Three Little Bears… and Cuban music, is available in all the stores and commercial spaces of the EGREM.
