Havana, Feb 13 (ACN) The 22nd Havana Habano Festival will be held in the capital from February 24th to 28th. It will be attended by Habano lovers and will feature the Bolivar, Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta brands.
According to the official website of Habanos S.A., the event, in which people from more than 60 countries are expected to attend, will have a program dedicated to the latest news, knowledge and enjoyment of this authentic Cuban product.
Considered the largest international meeting for those who enjoy the best tobacco in the world, it will include activities to learn about the origin, elaboration and the most diverse aspects of its culture.
In the present edition, visits will be made to the plantations of the Zona de Partido, San Antonio de los Baños, in Artemisa, and to the factories of La Corona and Partagás, to appreciate the process of production of the Habanos in all its chain of value.
On the 24th, the Commercial Fair is planned, a meeting and exchange point for professionals of the tobacco sector, exhibitors of manufacturers of luxury products in general, as well as craftsmen, artists, and creators of articles for smokers and gourmet products.
On the same day, the Welcome Night will take place at Club Habana, and will pay tribute to the Bolivar brand, with the presentation of Bolivar Reserva Cosecha 2016.
Other actions planned for the festival are the practical sessions and master lectures, led by renowned experts in the world of cigars, who will be gathered at the International Seminar, to be inaugurated on Wednesday, February 26, with the lecture Habanos and their brands, by journalist Ciro Bianchi.
The third edition of the Habanos World Challege contest will also be held at the festival to measure the general knowledge of the participants about Habanos in its creation process, from cultivation and elaboration to its use and enjoyment.
The night of February 26th will be dedicated to the 30th anniversary of La Casa del Habano and 85th of the Montecristo brand. The celebration, with the presence of 550 guests, will take place in the El Laguito Protocol Hall, designed for the enjoyment of the most prestigious Premium cigar lovers in the world.
There will also be evenings full of the best live music, with renowned international artists, as well as samples of Cuban gastronomy and the tasting of cigars and drinks from different parts of the world.
February 28th will be the grand closing of the festival, with a Gala Night dedicated to the Romeo y Julieta brand, and where the Habanos Awards will be presented and the traditional Humidor Auction will be held, whose proceeds, as is already tradition, will be entirely allocated to the Cuban Public Health system.
