Havana, July 16 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Government will report today on new economic measures adopted to face the complex national and international socioeconomic scenario, marked by the crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The vice president of the Republic, Salvador Valdés; the vice prime minister, Alejandro Gil, and the minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, will appear on the TV program Mesa Redonda to announce the provisions.
The President of Cimex and the General Director of Tiendas Caribe will also provide information starting at 18:00 (local time).
Since last May, the island’s Council of Ministers has adopted a strategy of preparation to face the current world situation and, as far as possible, to continue transforming the country’s economic and social model.
At that time, the Economy Plan for the current year was adjusted, the process of preparing the 2021 Plan was initiated and, at the same time, work continued on the National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030.
