Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel attended singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez’s 101st concert at the emblematic corner of Tercera and G in El Vedado, Havana, as part of his tour around neighborhoods.
Bruno Rodríguez, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Alpidio Alonso, head of Culture, and Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, first secretary of the PCC in Havana, accompanied the Cuban president.
The presentation was added to the celebrations to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Casa de las Américas, which will take place on April 28.
The enthusiastic participation of the neighbors and university students along with Diaz-Canel counteracted the negative effect that the unexpected rain could have had, which rather provoked a better atmosphere, and those present chanted the artist’s songs.
