Mexico, June 2 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents in Mexico ‘José Martí’ denounces the United States government for arbitrarily including the island in the list of countries that do not cooperate in the fight against terrorism.
In a public statement the association affirms that if there is a country that has suffered acts of terrorism promoted and financed from U.S. territory, this has been Cuba, since the first days of its Revolution, it suffered numerous types of sabotage, a military invasion and germ warfare.
Even dozens of Cubans were victims of a cruel and cowardly mid-flight commercial airplane explosion, and have killed 11 diplomatic officials in the line of duty, and many other terrorist acts that have accumulated in 61 years, the denunciation states.
Cubans living in Mexico are demanding a response from the Trump administration to the most recent terrorist attack against the headquarters of our embassy in Washington.
More than a month has passed since the cowardly attack, and the U.S. government remains complicit with the intellectual authors of the fact that from Florida they encourage and promote hatred and terrorism against our country.
Likewise, we denounce the increase in the aggression against Cuba, which are increasingly intensifying the criminal economic, financial and commercial blockade that has prevented, in the midst of the pandemic, the acquisition of medical material and equipment to combat it.
We condemn the defamatory campaign against the Henry Reeve medical brigade that is helping in 24 countries in the fight against Covid-19, with totally false accusations of slavery.
Our doctors, they say, participate in these brigades voluntarily and based on the internationalist principle that has characterized the Cuban Revolution, acts that are not of this time of pandemic.
The world has recognized their work, their professionalism, their altruism and solidarity, and so a broad international campaign is underway to have them awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Association joins the international demand for the end of the blockade and all types of aggression against our country, and we call on the world to prevent a new escalation of aggression against Cuba.
