Lombardy, Italy. – The Cuban Medical Brigade, sent to support health care in Lombardy in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, arrived this Sunday afternoon at Malpensa Airport in Milan.

Before leaving Havana, the 52 doctors and nurses received a message of encouragement from Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, and from the president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Our physicians who arrived in Italy are part of the Henry Reeve Internationalist Health Contingent, which specializes in providing health care in situations of disaster and serious epidemics.

This team has accumulated experience in complex missions such as the fight against Ebola in Africa, cholera in Haiti and the great earthquake in Pakistan, among other scenarios.
