The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Francisco Duran, reported that at yesterday’s close 52 new cases were confirmed, for a cumulative total of 1,337 Covid-19 positive patients in the country.
At yesterday’s close, April 24, 3,462 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 6,560 people are being monitored in their homes by the Primary Health Care.
The country has collected 37,991 samples and 1,337 positives (3.5%). Therefore, as of yesterday’s close, 52 new cases had been confirmed, for a total of 1,337 in the country.
The 52 new confirmed cases were Cuban. Of these, 34 (65.3%) were contacts of confirmed cases and 18 (34.6%) did not specify the source of infection.
Of the 52 diagnosed cases, 29 (55.7%) were men and 23 (44.2%) were women. The most affected age groups were: under 40 years of age with 25 cases (48.1%), followed by the group over 60 years of age with 15 cases (28.8%). 53.8% (28) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
