Cuba and the European Union to hold talks on sustainable development

The first EU-Cuba Talks on Sustainable Development will take place next Tuesday 16 in Havana, reported the cubaminrex website.
The Cuban delegation will be headed by the Director General of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rodolfo Reyes Rodríguez, and the European will be represented by the Director General for International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission, Stefano Manservisi.

During the exchange, the progress achieved by Cuba and the European Union in the the implementation of Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Objectives, as well as the main challenges faced in fulfilling this important task.

As part of this this exchange, on April 15 a meeting of representatives of the Cuban and European civil society will take place, with the aim of exchanging opinions on the role they should play in the civil society organizations in the achievement of the goals and related targets of the Sustainable Development.

Cuba has full diplomatic relations with the EU and its 28 member states. This talks on Sustainable Development will be carried out pursuant to Article 14 of the Political Talks and Cooperation Agreement concluded between the two parties in 2016 and provisionally put into force in 2017.
